NEODISHER MEDICLEAN - Liquid cleaning agent for use in special washing machines

neodisher mediclean is a detergent with particularly low environmental impact with weakly basic components which assist cleaning and develop little foam. neodisher mediclean removes residues of dried-on and degraded blood and blood residues which have been hardened by the action of disinfectants, while at the same time having a particularly gentle action on substrates.

Stainless steel, instrument steel, optics, common plastic as well as materials used in anaesthetic utensils are resistant to working solutions of neodisher mediclean. Material protection for natural coloured anodised aluminium is given by the cleaning with neodisher mediclean. Therefore the thermal disinfection with the final rinse has to be done with deionised water. Coloured anodised aluminium should first be checked for suitability.

If the water hardness is > 5 °d, it is advisable to install a water softener to prevent scale build-up and reduce the consumption of detergent.

Alkali-sensitive materials, such as anodised aluminium, lacquer coatings and adhesives may be attacked or altered by neodisher Septo DA. Such materials should be prepared with mild cleaners, such as neodisher medizym or neodisher mediclean and pH-neutral disinfectants, such as neodisher Septo DN in a separate programme.

In the case of heat- resistant instruments and utensils it is preferable to carry out the thermal disinfection at the end of the programme together with cleaning with neodisher medizym or neodisher mediclean.

NEODISHER IR - Liquid, acid cleaning agent for use in basic cleaning by immersion

neodisher IR is a special product for the basic cleaning to remove tarnishing, loose rust and rust stains. Stubborn inorganic residues on the instruments to be cleaned, which can result from various faults in preparation, are automatically removed with neodisher IR.

Instruments made of unhardened chrome steel, unalloyed steel and other materials which are not acid-resistant may not be treated with neodisher IR. This also applies to chromium-plated or nickel-plated instruments. With light alloy components and instruments of stainless steel, which do not have a quality guarantee, a prior test must be carried out to determine suitability. Instruments with carbide inlays are suitable for a basic wash, provided that the restrictions indicated below in the instructions for use are taken into account.

The basic cleaning with neodisher IR should not be used for the first cleaning of brand-new instruments.

The containers used for the basic wash and effluent pipes, through which the neodisher IR solutions are discharged, must be of acid-resistant material (Eternit and cast iron pipes are unsuitable). If necessary, the working solution of neodisher IR can be neutralized before discharge with an alkaline cleaning agent (without active chlorine).

NEODISHER LM2 - Liquid, mildly alkaline cleaning agent for use in immersion baths and pipette washing machines

This mildly alkaline detergent contains surfactants which are low-foaming and various cleaning intensifiers. neodisher LM 2 solutions are easily rinsed and do not create any annoying suds. Due to this lack of suds, the items to be cleaned can be taken for mechanical cleaning without being rinsed beforehand.

neodisher LM 2 removes organic residues, eg. encrusted blood and protein remains as well as food. Inorganic residues, eg. dental cement as well as remains of food and droppings from experimental animal cages can also be removed. These properties mean neodisher LM 2 is extremely well suited to the ultrasonic cleaning of surgical and dental instruments, particularly micro instruments.

If laboratory glassware is autoclaved before machine cleaning, a wet autoclaving with the addition of LM 2 (3 %) can be recommended. Afterwards soil residues can be more easily removed in machine cleaning.

None of the usual laboratory utensil materials, eg. glass, ceramic, highgrade steel and plastic will be harmed by neodisher LM 2-solutions. Objects made of light metals should be tested first.

The alkaline cleaning agent, with its highly-active low-foam-wetting agent, has an excellent cleaning effect on all types of residues. neodisher LM 3 can be used to remove organic residues, e.g. blood, protein and food remains and inorganic residues, even those with radioactive components.

neodisher LM 3 solutions are very easily rinsed and, as few suds are formed, after the item to be washed has been given a first manual clean in neodisher LM 3 solutions, it can be taken to be machine cleaned without being rinsed. neodisher LM 3 can also be used for the mechanical cleaning of laboratory glassware. neodisher LM 3 is well suited for use in special washing machines for e.g. viscosimeters and pipettes because it doesn't create any annoying suds.

neodisher LM 3 is phosphate-free (e.g.. a 2 % solution in distilled water contains < 1 ppm P2O5) and is therefore ideal when phosphate residues would interfere with subsequent operations (e.g. enzyme and serological tests, phosphat analysis).

neodisher Septo SF is a disinfectant for instruments and equipment by immersion. neodisher Septo SF was specially developed for wet condition prior to machine preparation. Since wet condition is advantageously employed in the emergency theatre and/or at weekends instead of dry condition, special demands are made of a suitable instrument disinfectant for this purpose:

• 1. Safe disinfectant action including HIV inactivation.
• 2. Simultaneous cleaning action, so that additions of cleaning enhancers are not required.
• 3. Prevention of attack and/or protection of the surfaces against the effects of constituents of the process water, e.g. of metal ions and chlorides as well as against the corrosive action of components in the adherent impurities.

Carry over of neodisher Septo SF residues from the plunge bath into the machines does not lead to foaming problems, if the machines are operated as recommended with suitable neodisher special cleaners.
