Spectra/Por Float-A-Lyzer
Ultra Performance Dialysis for
Sample Volumes from 300 µl to 10 ml
|
| KEY POINTS |
|
| GENERAL DESCRIPTION |
The new Spectra/Por Float-A-Lyzer is a presealed dialysis membrane
tubing at one end and attaches to a floatable cap at the other for
convenient dialysis of sample volumes 300 µl, 500 µl, 1 ml, 3 ml,
5 ml and 10 ml.
Each Float-A-Lyzer Dialysis Tube features innovative Spectra/Por
Biotech membranes with thirteen choices of Molecular Weight Cut
Off ranging from 100 to 300,000 Daltons for all types of separation
applications.
High purity membranes yield excellent sample recovery for biological
samples such is proteins, peptides, antibodies, DNA, etc Purifications
by removing small molecular weight contaminants, desalting, buffer
exchange and concentration are quick and easy to handle with the
Float-A-Lyzer.
There is no danger of puncturing the membrane when loading or recovering
sample from using hypodermic needles and syringes. The floatable
cap makes it easy, to load and recover sample with the provided
pipette as well as easy to access to the sample during dialysis.
Multiple Float-A-Lyzers can be simultaneously dialyzed in one reservoir.
Fast and convenient sample concentration is easy when coating the
outside of Float-A-Lyzer with Spectra/Gel Absorbent after dialysis.
The absorbent powder draws out water and other small molecules until
the desired level of concentration is obtained.
Each Spectra/Por Float-A-Lyzer Dialysis Tube is packaged wet individually
in 0.1 % sodium azide preservative. Simply rinse the dialysis tube
in DI water to remove the preservative. No boiling or soaking prior
to use.

EZ-1 MultiDialyzer For use with Multiple DispoDialyzers
|
| KEY POINTS |
- High water absorbent capacity
- Easy to use with any MWCO dialysis membrane
- Easy to concentrate small molecular weight molecules
- Easy to remove
- Cost effective
- Convenient for sample concentration with Float-A-Lyzer, Micro
DispoDialyzer and DispoDialyzer
- Easy loading, simple to use
- Eliminates use of multiple buffer chambers
- Saves time during dialysis sample preparation
- Simplifies process of multiple sample dialysis
|
| GENERAL
DESCRIPTION |
The new Spectra/Por EZ-1 MultiDialyzer is uniquely designed for
rapid, efficient, and simultaneous dialysis of multiple samples
using DispoDialyzers. The EZ-1 can dialyze up to 44 samples contained
within one buffer chamber.
With the EZ-1, samples are loaded into individual DispoDialyzers
and placed in numbered positions in the carousel. The whole carousel
is immersed in the 3L buffer chamber and rotated at 360° (10 rpm)
to optimize conditions for diffusion and insuring maximum dialysis
efficiency. Dialyzed samples remain in the DispoDialyzers, ready
to be removed for further analysis.
The numbered positions of the carousel eliminate the need for
taped labels for sample identification. The carousel plate has
two different sized holes to accommodate twenty of 0.5ml, 1ml
or 2ml and twenty four of 5ml

Spectra/Gel
Absorbent Solution for easy concentration
|
| KEY POINTS |
- High water absorbent capacity
- Easy to use with any MWCO dialysis membrane
- Easy to concentrate small molecular weight molecules
- Easy to remove
- Cost effective
- Convenient for sample concentration with Float-A-Lyzer, Micro
DispoDialyzer and DispoDialyzer
|
| GENERAL
DESCRIPTION |
Spectra/Gel makes concentration of protein sample solution quick
and efficient. It is made of polacrylate-polyalcohol and has the
property of expanding as it absorbs water. The high molecular
weight polymer can be used with dialysis membrane of MWCO as low
as 100D up to 300 kD without contaminating the sample. After dialysis,
remove the dialysis tubing containing the sample and simply coat
it with Spectra/Gel. Water and smaller molecules diffuse through
the membrane and are absorbed by Spectra/Gel. Concentration continues
until a specific volume of water is removed from the sample. As
Spectra/Gel is insoluble it is easy to remove after absorbtion.
No honey-like sticking on the outside of the dialysis membrane.
The length of time needed for concentration will depend on the
final volume, the MWC0, the surface to volume ratio of the membrane
tubing and the amount of Spectra/Gel Absorbent. After dialysis,
Spectra/Por Float-A-Lyzer using MWCO of 15K can quickly reduce
a starting volume 5 ml to 0.5 ml in 90 minutes with 10 grams of
the Spectra/Gel Absorbent.

Cellulose Ester(CE) Dialysis Membranes
- An Ultra High Purity
and Precise Separation Dialysis Membrane
|
| KEY POINTS |
- Fourteen precise MWC0s ranging from 100 Daltons to 1 million
Daltons
- Hydrophilic and uniform molecular porous dialysis membranes
- No special chemical precleaning required
|
| GENERAL
DESCRIPTION |
The state-of-art Spectra/Por Cellulose Ester (CE) dialysis membranes
offer an excellent Molecular Weight Cut Off (MWCO) selection for
separation of ionic species as well as macromolecules.
The advanced manufacturing process provides CE dialysis membranes
with an extremely high purity and features a biologically inert
surface to yield an optimum sample recovery.
The Spectra/Por Biotech CE membranes are sensitive to organic
solvents. Strong polar solvents such as acetone, MEK or dioxane
will irreparably damage the membrane. This membrane will tolerate
exposure to lower alcohols (methanol, ethanol, and isopropanol)
without apparent damage, but with possible alteration of MWCO.
The membrane should not be exposed to organic solvents at concentrations
exceeding 5% in water
Supplied wet in 0.1 % sodium azide preservative
The Universal Closures are designed for gently sealing of Biotech
CE membranes due to their rigid characteristics.
